Common questions
How long should I wait before staining?
Usually two to three dry days, longer in cool or humid weather. Staining damp wood traps moisture and the finish fails early — we'll tell you honestly when it's ready rather than rushing you.
Can you clean composite decking?
Yes, and it needs a gentler approach than wood. Composite scars permanently under too much pressure, so we clean it chemically at low pressure rather than trying to scour the surface.
What about the green film on shaded boards?
That's algae, and it's the slippery one. Rinsing removes the colour but not the growth, so it returns quickly. We treat it so it's actually killed off, which buys you a lot more time.
